Unknowns.

Another Saturday is upon us. The Carpenter started the day with a customer meeting at our Hyde Ave reroof project regarding their fireplace.. not their roof. I would prefer he not "work" on Saturdays but sometimes it's the only time a customer can meet. …

During the roof demo it was discovered that the fireplace in the living room which had been converted to gas, had very serious issues. So serious as to be determined not safe or usable. And to further complicate… there is a lower level fireplace also involved.

After giving the homeowner the not so good news.. there was a call to the insurance company to see about funding the new fireplace construction.. without good results. The Carpenter stepped in, brought in a fireplace expert who supplied the facts, which brought a favorable outcome. The fireplace rebuild will be covered by the homeowner's insurance!

This is a good example of how we handle and care about all the details on a project, including the unexpected hidden ones that usually surface during a remodel. The other night someone asked the Carpenter .. if he could do any project, what would be his first choice? He said without hesitation… "I love to go into an "unknown" remodel with the challenge of figuring it out .. the messier the better."

Am I bragging here just a bit? Unashameably yes. Spending your hard earned money on improving your home is serious. A lot is at stake. Wouldn't you want the process managed by a company that can handle the unknown?

I think so.
