Saturday.

It's the Saturday before Christmas and Santa and his elves are too busy to help. I am sure they are into "overtime" themselves right about now. Saturdays are clean-up days. Little projects and errands that the crew or the Carpenter can not get to during the week.

This morning the Carpenter left at 8 AM to head out west of here to buy a much needed garage door for the cabinet shop. He has been looking on Craig's List for at least two years. We just realized with our recent hire want ads on Craig's List http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/ram/trd/4811551438.html that there is a technical glitch between the Carpenter's Mac (of course he has an Apple ;) and Craig's List's generic email system. We could not directly communicate with a Craig's List user. He asked our server host but just got a shoulder shrug. Well he finally got a good solution that worked. Supplied by our lead carpenter Adam!

He dropped off the garage door parts, hooked up the construction trailer and took off to assist with cutting a new vanity countertop and then on to a small deck repair. And I'm sure some time this weekend he will head to our local builder's store- Menards to pick up supplies for this next week's projects. And so it goes.

As he drove off I noted how dirty our trailer is. It is creeping up in age and has many wrinkles and dents from years of use. It needs a makeover or better yet.. a whole new trailer! Hopefully we can replace it in 2015. It has served us well. I guess for now I will settle for a good scrub. It takes effort during a Minnesota salty winter to keep a vehicle clean. But it is necessary for a business. I do admire those sparkly UPS trucks!

If you see any elves walking around with signs that say.. "looking for work".. please send them our way.
