I need mums.

Fall is nearly upon us. The best part about fall are the things that surround it. The smell of fallen leaves, cooler temps, pumpkins, orchard apples, warm colors, boots, plaid shirts and fragrant cozy fires. The worst part about fall… the season that follows!

I've been away. I've been under the weather. I haven't bought a single mum. I like to buy mums because they hold up till Christmas. Well the texture of them does. …

We're working hard here at Applewood bidding for winter projects. Kind of like squirrels gathering nuts. We feel a little nuts. Well that's actually normal for being self-employed! It's been a solid summer of work. A four season room, a deck, window replacements and repairing major water damage. We're hoping that this winter… we have inside work in January. Tyler our young carpenter worked his very first winter with us outside in frigid temps last winter. He spent the entire winter testing out gloves. One day he brought a basket of gloves he found around his house to work.. to see if one pair would keep him warm.

He is still working for us. Trial by fire.

The Carpenter is working in his home office today catching up on paper work. Forever paperwork. The crew started the week at the Maplewood Insurance Project. It's progressing nicely. The homeowners are anxious to get their life back post their inside monsoon!

I'm hoping to get out this week and buy some mums. Freshen our home for fall. And plan for fall. I've got a lot of plans. I bet you do too. It's just hard to stop life and actually get to them don't you think?

Here's to fall and lots of work and inside jobs come January!
