We drove about 3 hours to the cabin. Felt like we were way out in the country and well we were! We ended up on dirt roads that got narrower and narrower. It was a nice Sunday adventure.
We were greeted by a trio of Welsh Corgi dogs that were also visiting at the cabin. And we noticed right away the loud bird noises in the trees directly overhead. Eagles! I'm an avid eagle nest watcher and last week.. my favorite nest's cam went off for the season. Since I usually keep the live stream video going during my work day.. I am very used to the eagle calls. They are quite loud and somewhat obnoxious to listen to. Especially when the youngsters are hungry! Anyway.. it was so fun to see an adult and a "juvie" up close! Though in hindsight we don't think the snack manager was too happy with what was going on over her head!
The Ships Ladder turned out beautiful. Really is the focal point of the cabin and gives great access to the large sleeping loft. The Carpenter and crew really enjoyed "crafting" it too.
