Gather around the table...

I hesitated writing this post... in fact it's been in "Draft" status on my blog dashboard. Thanksgiving is I believe the most pressured stressful meal of the holidays for many (dare I say mostly) women. We want to present our best. We want to make our family happy and we want to be just a tiny bit admired for our sacrifice and sweaty (yes...a face full of mash potato steam is just that... sweaty..) efforts. And most of all... getting many dishes to the table all hot at the same time in a sane manner is no small feat. So I say.. hats off to those Thanksgiving culinary warriors! You rock. Even if very few realize the effort and skill that went into your meal... we fellow warriors know and this one applauds you! ...

Now you are maybe wondering... what does a post on holiday table ideas have to do with home building? Well.. it is a stretch I will admit. Tying it in with the purpose of this blog could go like this.. there was a hole, then a foundation, framing, sheetrock, flooring, trim, paint, lighting, a dining room table, candles, food. There.. you have it.

Now....in the spirit of the season... and not to add any additional pressure... here are some creative ideas- painted picnic table, ornament placecard holder, muslin table cloth, scrapbook paper placemats... and a video just to view for fun on this late fall Sunday afternoon.

I hope you can and do enjoy a lovely gathering around your table this Thanksgiving with family and friends.
