Loft play.

We finished our barn loft project last week. It was a quick creative project for the crew. We had to meet a deadline for a scheduled party. Deadlines keep you focused. That's a good thing!

The Carpenter and I headed over to do clean-up after the crew left. While I picked up tools and trash.. the Carpenter cut leftover scrap wood for our summer camping vacation. Nothing goes to waste on our projects. We received some assistance from the little honorary apprentice carpenter on the site, as well as one of his sisters. They loaded a mountain of cut wood scraps into the back of one of our trash trailers really fast. Faster then I would have.

After clearing tools and trash I started sweeping up lots saw dust. Can't get away from that! I'm thinking of writing a post on 101 Uses for Sawdust.. or packaging fresh sawdust to sell on Ebay for soil enrichment.

On our way out the door after getting the barn interior back to normal, the Carpenter told the little workers… "he'd be back in a couple of hours." He still had one last task to do.. sand the loft handrails to his standard of smooth.

He arrived back to see the funniest thing! Some of the kids who live at this project had already taken over the loft for their play area. Beds were layed out, a dining area set up and even a "bookcase" had some books already displayed! In fast one of the little girls thanked the Carpenter for making a "bookcase" in the loft! I'm sorry I just have to say this… just too darn cute!! Be still my heart.

I just love the imagination of kids. I would have done the same… ahhh a few years back
;) A long time ago the Carpenter built a treehouse on our property with some nephews. No one was ever interested in sleeping in it or playing in it. I took it over.

I am slowly loading the project pics onto our Facebook page under the album titled.. 50th Street. Here is the link to that album. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.865640246856489.1073741919.342655239154995&type=3 …
