Incoming.

White that is. Too soon. Much too soon. Here in Minnesota we are expecting our first snowfall of the season tomorrow continuing into Tuesday. Significant snowfall. Any snowfall is disruptive but the first one is especially so.

Starting with Applewood. One of our projects is an outside residing job. The Carpenter had to run out to the job site yesterday to tarp the debris piles for easy clean-up later. Today we had to rethink tomorrow's work day. No outside work for 18+ inches of snow! The crew will split between the cabinet shop and the kitchen remodel projects.

Today the Carpenter and I had to finish up winter prep projects here at headquarters. Stack wood (I got a lesson in how to stack properly) for our wood burning stove, tarp the camper, stow away all the lawn equipment, change over the lawn tracker to a snow tracker, remove the garden hoses and just generally look around for anything that can't be buried for 6 months in white!

Now the Carpenter is on his way to Home Depot before it closes to pick up lumber for tomorrow's cabinet shop project. He's got to get to the Depot before it closes at 7 PM. Then after he will head to the kitchen remodel project to bring home the work trailer.. so it isn't in the way for the homeowner's plow guy.

Today as we worked I pictured Minnesotan's all over the Twin Cities scurrying around putting lawn furniture away, chasing the last leaves and storing boats. I saw quite a few boats pass by the house. Why do we live here?! Oh yeah.. it's a very nice place to live.

Well here's to hoping this is the only Polar Vortex for this winter!
