Getting it right.

This subject would be a good one for the Carpenter to write about. He lived it. It's his story to tell. But I'm here.. he isn't and I thought I would write from my perspective. …

Last night he came home completely wiped out. Everything hurt. He had spent the day laying a laminate wood floor with our crew. It was supposed to be a quick job that would fill the gaps between the larger projects. Two days. Done. But it didn't turn out that way.

At the end of the first day the schedule was gold. But he felt like something wasn't right. The installation was difficult. The floor looked good if you didn't know what to look for. What had been assembled was unassembled at the end of the day. The Carpenter was discouraged. He regretted taking on the job. The schedule was bust. But he knew he did the right thing by deciding to start over.

Later in the evening he had a communication from the homeowner. He thanked the Carpenter for doing the right thing. He said… "the floor looked good to us, but you knew it wasn't right. Most contractors would just let it go. Thank you."

This might seem like a small deal. But it shows that if the Carpenter has integrity for the small stuff that can be easily covered up.. how much more will he have for the big stuff like your dream?
