Only two bites.

The good and the not so good. We share it all. Each day is a new day of opportunities and challenges. Currently we are looking for an experienced carpenter to join our team. We are seeking someone with enough experience to partner well with our lead carpenter and apprentice, and to free up "the Carpenter" to project manage and bring more projects in. 

Two years ago we placed an add on Craig's list and were flooded with applicants. After two rounds of interviews we had three solid picks. Or so we thought. For one reason or another two of the three didn't work out and the third changed his mind. …

So for the past two years we've managed with "the Carpenter" continuing to pound nails, and the hire of our Apprentice last fall. We squeaked through the long winter months but now we need to hire. We're in the our busy season and the work is plentiful. Not that we couldn't always use more!

We have an ad on Craig's list right now. Only two bites. Much has changed in two years since we last posted. Mainly the economy has greatly improved and the housing market has nicely recovered from the terrible 2007 crash. So now there are a glut of construction jobs. Not a glut of applicants. Good that the economy is perking along. Not so good for finding our guy. And here I thought that the job seeker was always at the disadvantage!

I believe our carpenter is out there and will find his way to us. Just like how we found our Apprentice. I believe in prayer. For now, it's just a matter of patience.
