Barn Door Love.

these days I'm into "Modern farmhouse". White walls, rich colors of navy, red, ochre, slate. Warm stained wood. And sliding barn doors! A great way to separate a dining room, close off a laundry room, or make a grand entrance to the master bedroom! Even the humble closet can become the star of your home now too. Just one barn door added in a strategic spot will amp up your home's style! …

Barn doors aren't just made out of rough barn wood anymore. They can be created from recycled old interior doors, new wood, hard laminate paneling. And their colors range from traditional dark warm wood to painted red, black, white, mossy green, slate. They can have glass windows which can be half, 3/4 or full view!

And there are all kinds of beautiful hardware available options to fit your home's style. http://www.realslidinghardware.com. And barn doors are not just for "Modern Farmhouses". They are now being created for contemporary homes with sleek clean lines.

The only drawback to a rolling barn door is that you need the space to be able to roll it completely off the opening it is covering. So you need adequate wall space to accommodate the opened door. And even then.. the door sitting completely opened adds a great architectural detail.

So I say.. if you have the room… go to your local salvage yard and find yourself a door! And have some fun.
