Breathe.

Between winter and spring is a tough time. Harder I think then between summer and fall or fall and winter. The ground here in Minnesota still has more snow then grass. It's still more cold then warm. But the days are getting longer. A few more birds are chattering- though I think it's only our winter birds happy to have survived the big chill. …

Today it's raining. Not s spitty rain but a real drip down the windows rain. Hopeful that it doesn't turn to snow and that it does wash the white away.

We are in "between" here at Applewood. Completed a project last week. Waiting to start some new projects in the next week. During the "between" time.. our crew is getting some rest, a change in the routine of go-go-go. Maybe this is a good thing for the beginning of building season.

The Carpenter has been drawing out staircases, porches and writing up bids to present. It too has been a nice change for him. A chance to catch up. This is okay for right now.

I think this is called "breath" in the schedule. We are anticipating. We are resting. We are drawing. We are breathing. Yep. Need to breathe now and then right?

This is how it is.

The best things in life are nearest:  Breath in your nostrils, light in your eyes,
flowers at your feet, duties at your hand, the path of right just before you.
Then do not grasp at the stars, but do life's plain, common work as it comes,
certain that daily duties and daily bread are the sweetest things in life.

~ Robert Louis Stevenson

The Carpenter still likes to hand draw his projects. A lost art.
