It’s a beautiful day…

On the lake. I have been fishing and swimming and sunning. The birds are singing and the eagles are soaring. A tall cold glass of iced tea is sitting in my chair's cup holder and I see the kids coming down the road with ice cream in hand.

Aren’t summers in Minnesota grand! It’s so perfect today I almost think I am dreaming……Oh nuts... I am! The good news is this….. 30’s next week! I think we are going to turn the weather corner real soon, I feel it in my bones.

This is the time of year that everything is yearning for warmth. My trailers are iced and salted

over so badly I don’t remember what color they are. Our tools are also weather beaten. Cords are cracked, plastic parts are broken, you can hear the cold in them when you turn the switch on. Screeching and groaning all at one time… oh that’s just coming from the guys!

February brings hope. A time when you know no matter what the weather brings this time of year, it will be short lived and spring will be just around the corner.

We are starting some deck work this week. I have been hoping that with the snow cover that our frost in the ground won't be too difficult to drill through– I estimate it at about 3 feet deep. (I have a feeling I am being a bit overly optimistic on this one.) Low snow covered areas I'm hearing the frost is anywhere from 5 to 7 feet deep!

We have some decks, some window replacements, maybe some bathrooms to remodel and hopefully a couple of small kitchens.

We continue to be blessed by keeping busy despite the cold, and jobs always seem to be there just when you need them. We looked at a very interesting stairway /ladder system for a cabin up north. I really want to do this one. It will be very fun and creative. We will see. If we get it we will be sure to show the photos on our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/ApplewoodINC. Stay tuned.

Keep sending those referrals to us and we will do our best to sign them on. We appreciate every one.
