juggling

It is a fine line you need to walk when your time management skills are being tested. Delays caused by weather and other things cause management issues with one job, which in turn causes issues on another.

Case in point.

Our “Craftsman” project is close to the end. We still need to wrap up the exterior work but our difficult late winter/early spring Minnesota weather has caused one delay after another.

I have now re-scheduled our excavator four times for one last trench that needs to be dug so we can finish the back patio area and also the final grade. Once the digger is re-scheduled, that also means our concrete contractor needs to be re-scheduled, which in turn keeps our stucco crew from being able to do their thing, and so on and so on and so on…
on top of them all needing to keep their other customers happy. I’m not their only one.

With rain during some part of almost every day during the last week, we took advantage of the weather and got the “Bungalow” project complete. That too was in the middle of the time schedule dance. You see, they have been waiting since last Thanksgiving for us to have time to do their job. Fortunately this extended rain period made it possible for that to be completed.

And also fortunately, our “Craftsman” job customers have been extremely patient with all of this going on. D & J, I do appreciate your grace being extended through all of the delays, and also to D & C, on the “Bungalow” project, thank you for waiting.

We have been blessed with some very good customers over the years and to all of you it does not go un-noticed. Thank you very much.

We are coming off of a nice long Memorial Day weekend and are ready to roll up our sleeves again and take on whatever the job has waiting for us.
