the challenge of the truss

This week we will be getting the walls framed up, and preparing to "lift and set" the "room in attic" roof trusses.

This truss set will present a few challenges, primarily because we have overhead cable, phone and power lines within about 10 feet of our building causing somewhat of a headache for the crane operator. Two crane companies have already declined the job. I will be meeting with one on Wednesday and hopefully we can decide how it will work.

If they decline then we will be figuring it out on our own. We need to raise 25' long by 12' high, 300 plus pound trusses about 10' up.
I was thinking about how we could do this ourselves with a hoist, when the artist reminded me of a hoist we made for an Easter production at church years ago, for some reason we called it the pig hoist. Steve, if you are reading this…….I need that hoist! (maybe)

This is definately something most homeowners would not want to do themselves. Stay posted and we will include pictures showing how this all pans out.

To all of our customers in this last year, once again we want to say thank you for the work you have provided us in 2012. We look forward to continuing our 34+ year venture into 2013. Any and all referrals we get from you are so much appreciated.
