This week we are having to change our mode of
operation slightly.
As we are swinging our hammers, we are also keeping an eye
on the weather. You see, we are now tying in our new roof frame to the
existing roof of our customer's home (Familyroom/kitchen addition project) That means we are now vulnerable to the
changes in our crazy Minnesota weather.
This is January right? It snows in Minnesota in January
right?.....Wrong!!!!
We are looking at a forecast of rain for two days on Thursday
and Friday. With the chance of rain for two days coming up, we are changing our
process of framing to make sure we are watertight when it does start to fall.
That means instead of finishing the frame process the way we would like to, we have to do it somewhat broken up.

We are concentrating on getting the area of the new roof
that intersects with the old finished first. That means we are letting go of
some of the framing that would normally be done first. It does present a few issues in knowing what we are doing
now, and how that will fit into the rest of the framing when we do get to it. That requires
good layout and good planning. All I can say is I’m glad I have the right guys working with
me and I know it will be done with no problems.
You can view photos of our framing process on our Applewood Facebook page. We are posting photos weekly as the project progresses. http://www.facebook.com/ApplewoodINC
Now lets hope the weather forecast is wrong, no rain or snow!
