Timing…good and bad
Two weeks ago we had to reschedule our dig for the room
addition project we were starting because of the 14” snow fall we had the day
before.
Bad timing. The weather took a better turn the next few days. We got all the snow cleared and the hole was dug in good
weather.
11 days ago the footings were poured, still good weather.
10 days ago we drained tiled, still good weather.
6 days ago the forms were removed, still good weather.
5 days ago we waterproofed, still good weather.
4 days ago we backfilled and graded the yard smooth, no frozen dirt, still good weather.

3 days ago we had lumber delivered, we re-stacked and
organized and got ready for our first day of framing which will be the day
after Christmas, still good weather.
I look back 2 weeks ago when that first snow came, I was feeling
sorry for myself…why?
I now can see how fortunate we really are. One day of bad
weather and now over 2 weeks of good weather which without a doubt has made our
life much easier.
Yes we are working outside in what will soon be the coldest
days of the year, but I need to remember it will all get done and to not let
the few bad timing days we will have overshadow the many good timing days we
will have but somehow don’t remember.
Merry Christmas to all!
