helping you

Recently I spent some time with an Applewood client. We are remodeling her master bath. She wants her bath to feel like she's at a spa- peaceful soothing colors and textures. She also wants this bath to match the esthetic feel of the rest of her home and to have a monochromatic palette. Even though the bath is not large, it still takes some thought to coordinate tile, fixtures, hardware, wall paint and to avoid ending up with "blah" or a non-specific style result. I met with the client at her home to view the bath and see her personal home style. We also visited a tile shop. She ended up picking all the elements and is ready for the remodeling to start. ...

It can be so overwhelming to pick all the elements of your bath- vanity style and materials, tub/shower tile, floor tile, fixtures, lighting, cabinet hardware and wall paint. You might know what you want but have no idea how to get there. Or you aren't even sure what you want. And the choices... have you ever been to a high end tile shop? Beautiful colors, textures, shapes and materials that are breathtaking.. literally.

Sometimes you just need someone there to support and help you stay focused through the decision process.. so you can ask.. "well what do you think? Do you like this color?" Someone who can come into your home, get a feel for your tastes, style, the essence of you. This is what I love to do. Help give clarity, an objective eye, support and direction. To make the most of the budget you have to spend to achieve your dream. I'm not a certified interior designer, but I am a "designer" through and through. Years of working with design- floral, paper, ink, designing home layouts with the carpenter... I have developed instincts for color and balance that I have learned through experience. I'm just creative, doesn't matter what the medium.
