During construction, we changed the exterior color at the last moment from a dark charcoal taupe to navy blue. I never would have suspected months later I would be living there and contemplating how to decorate for the Christmas season in a way that would be appealing to a potential buyer. I remember too making this statement... to myself really... "I'm embracing blue"!
I did not want a patriotic house! The house had white trim and a warm wood stained front craftsman entry door. I came up with a palette of blue, silver and white. It was a huge success. I regret taking no photos.
Well I'm still embracing blue. We eventually sold the house and moved back into our "real" home. It's white with navy blue shutters and a dark pumpkin front door. I've decorated with blue, silver and white ever since. This year golden orange candles burn at the windows. It pleases me to turn into my driveway and see my little cape all nestled and sparkly in the snow.
still embracing blue!
