chasing those winter blues..

this time of the year I start craving color. Not subdued gentle tones... but vibrant, clear joyful color. It's because the colors outside my window are shades of gray and white. And on a sunny day some pale yellows and lavender hued shadows.. beautiful but awfully boring after three months! So today I'm seeking and celebrating color. My first stop.. Anthropologie's color post on my facebook wall this  morning... it made me feel blissful. really...

It appears that golden yellow, coral, emerald green and cobalt blue are "the" colors... and also perfect colors to pair with those more subdued winter hues for your wardrobe or home... bring in a pop of one of these colors into your rooms to chase the late winter blues!

Now what is my favorite store offering to perk you up... how about this chair from Target? Pink Chevron stripes... could it be any sweeter?

I moseyed over to the Gap... now here's some color!

check out the bright blue shoes and sunshiny bag paired with neutrals.. see how pops of color work!

feast.

beautiful curtains... a warm spring breeze from Ikea....

next I headed to Pinterest...

paint an old piece of furniture an unexpected color for you. seriously. do it.

I'm loving coral for the first time. Maybe not this much coral.. but you get the picture!

My adirondacks are getting dressed in beautiful turquoise this spring. Will go nicely with my navy blue shutters and pumpkin front door!

pink.. the perfect ending.

I challenge you to try a pop of color in your wardrobe, or your home... it will brighten your day and winter will flee.
